UK passport photo questions.
Can I take a UK passport photo at home?
Yes. GOV.UK allows a digital photo taken using your own device with someone else helping to take it. Follow the current background, lighting, pose and file rules.
Do I need a passport photo code?
Not always. It is one supported way to provide a digital photo. Follow the options shown in your online passport application.
Can I use a filtered or edited photo?
No. Current UK guidance requires an unaltered photograph.
Are digital and printed passport photos the same size?
No. Digital images use pixel and file-size rules. Printed passport photos are 45×35mm.
