UK passport photo comparison
If you are searching for passport photos at Boots, first decide whether you need photo printing, a digital image, or a digital passport photo code.
Order from homeWhat Boots Photo currently offers
Boots Photo’s official site promotes photo printing through online ordering and CEWE Photostations in hundreds of UK stores. Its instant-print service lets you upload a prepared image and print at a selected store, including via an emailed QR code for in-store collection/printing.
Boots Photo details checked 10 October 2026 against Boots Photo instant prints and its store locator. Services can change.
Printing a photo is not the same as getting a photo code
A standard photo-printing kiosk can print an image you already have. A UK passport photo code is a separate retrieval method used during an online passport application. Before paying for any service, check whether you need prints, a digital image file or a photo code.
Boots printing or an online passport-photo service?
| Need | Boots Photo route | Passport Photo Code UK route |
|---|---|---|
| Print an existing image | Boots Photo offers photo printing and in-store CEWE Photostations | Printed passport-photo products are available; postage may apply |
| Digital passport image | Check the exact Boots product before ordering | £6.99 published digital-image option |
| Digital photo code | Do not assume a standard photo print includes one; verify the chosen service | Choose the product that explicitly includes a photo code |
| Travel | Required for in-store printing | No for online ordering |
Independent comparison. Passport Photo Code UK is not affiliated with Boots or CEWE.
Applying online?
For an online UK passport application, follow the digital-photo rules rather than printed 45 × 35 mm measurements. If your chosen route uses a code, make sure the product explicitly supplies a code.
