Selected Tesco stores have Max Spielmann passport photo booths or concessions. Availability varies by store, so check the Tesco facilities listing or Max Spielmann locator before travelling.
What is currently available at Tesco?
Max Spielmann states that its passport booths are available in 800+ Tesco stores and that booth passport photos start from £10. The booth service provides printed photos and a digital photo code for an online UK passport application. Max Spielmann concessions inside Tesco list passport photos from £12.99.
Check Max Spielmann’s current Tesco information and use Tesco’s store locator to confirm a photo booth at your branch.
Do you need a booth?
For an online UK passport application, you can either use a photo code from a participating booth/shop or take a digital photograph using your own device during the application. GOV.UK says a self-taken digital photo must be unedited, clear, in colour and meet the current digital-photo rules.
If you prefer to prepare your photo from home, see our UK passport photo guide, current requirements and photo code guide.
At-home option from Passport Photo Code UK
Our current online options start from £6.99. Check the exact product you need before ordering because a digital image and a photo code are different outputs.
Retailer and provider details checked 10 October 2026. Prices and branch availability can change. Passport Photo Code UK is an independent service and is not affiliated with Tesco or Max Spielmann. HM Passport Office makes the final acceptance decision.
