Home / UK Passport Photo Rejected? What to Check
Start with the message you received
Read the exact issue shown in your passport application or supplier email. A rejected photo can need a new picture rather than a software adjustment. Keep the message and your order reference so support can understand the problem.
Check the common causes
Quality and lighting
Look for blur, shadows, red eye and reflections over the eyes. Take a new photo in more even light.
Background and framing
Use a plain light-coloured background, with no other people or objects. Keep your face unobscured.
File and edits
Check digital file dimensions and size. Use an original image without filters, retouching or background replacement.
Retake or ask for help
A local file checker only checks part of the requirements. It cannot override an application decision. Do not assume every warning has the same cause.
Email photocodeuk@gmail.com or call +44 7702 396886. For an existing order, include your order reference and the exact error message. Never send card details or your passport application password.
